Shaving my Deaf Cat

Sample’s fur had turned into a matted mess around his back legs. I’d been dreading the grooming session, but being deaf actually worked in his favor – he couldn’t hear the clippers buzzing. He just got annoyed at being held down, not the sound. Twenty minutes later, he looked ridiculous but felt much better. Sometimes disabilities become unexpected advantages.

Finally Watching The Sopranos

After living in North Jersey for over a year, I finally started The Sopranos. Three episodes in, I get it now. This isn’t just a great TV show – it’s a cultural landmark that put North Jersey on the world map. Watching Tony navigate these roads I drive daily made me realize how awesome this place actually is. I’d been living in a location that’s genuinely iconic, and I was too busy complaining about traffic to notice.

Beating Doom Scrolling

The solution wasn’t deleting social media – it was replacing short-form content with long-form content. Instead of scrolling through endless posts, I’m reading books again, picking up magazines, and watching hour-long YouTube videos that actually explain the news instead of just reacting to it. My attention span is coming back, and I’m learning things instead of just consuming anxiety.
